Being Kind
1 Thessalonians 5:15 – Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.
- In your own words, what is kindness?
- What makes someone easy to be kind to? What makes it difficult?
- Why is it important followers of Jesus are kind to people, especially the ones that are hard to want to be kind to?
How to be Kind – KICK
PJ gave us the acronym KICK to help us remember how to show kindness.
Kiss – Greeting others joyfully
2 Corinthians 13:12 – Greet one another with a holy kiss
- Why do you think this is in the Bible?
- How does this command apply to us today?
- How can choosing to apply this principle affect our relationships?
Interest – Ask others about their life
Philippians 2:4 – Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
- Why is it important that we show interest in other people’s lives?
- What are some practical ways you can take interest in someone else?
Care – Look for simple ways to help others
Ephesians 4:32 – Be kind and compassionate to one another
- Tell about a time when someone showed you kindness
- Why do you think we sometimes see someone in need, feel
compassion, and do nothing? - Why is it important that we don’t ignore the needs of our family and other’s close to us?
Kudos – To give praise or thanks, to compliment.
- How can giving someone thanks or a compliment be kindness?
- Why do you think we don’t do this more often for people?
How would you have to change if you decided to KICK your family?
- How could it have a positive impact on your family?
What would happen if our youth group KICKed everyone that came to Amplify?
- What would this actually look like on Wednesday night?
