What makes love for different things greater or lesser?
How do you know you love something or someone more than another?

Jesus’ Love

John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus’ love for us is greater than other loves. How is his love different than our love of things and other people?

Jesus’s love > your past.

Have you ever felt like you messed up too much for God to love you?

What would you say to someone that did feel that way?

1 Timothy 1:16 – But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life

What does it mean for Jesus to have “unlimited patience?”

If someone said, “because God forgives me, I can sin all I want and just get forgiven,” what would your response be?

Jesus’s love > your problems.

When you are facing a problem, how can your faith in God help you?

Loving back

John 14:15 – “If you love me, you will obey what I command.

How is obeying Jesus a sign of love to him?

Why is obeying Jesus sometimes a challenge?

How is obeying out of fear different than obeying out of love?
